Red Wings Defeat Devils 4-2
    The Red Wings defeated the New Jersey Devils in Detroit by a score of 4-2 on Friday, November 30, 2001.
    Sergei Federov beat Martin Brodeur with a nice slap shot just 2:10 into the first period to give the Red Wings an early 1-0 lead.
    The first period ended with the Red Wings leading the Devils 1-0.   The Devils outshot the Red Wings 9-7 in the period.
    Thomas Holmstrom beat Marty Brodeur at 8:39 of the seocond period to give Detroit a 2-0 lead.
    Colin White scored for the Devils at 11:04 of the second to get the Devils within one goal of the Wings.   Bobby Holik and Sergei Nemchinov got assists on White's first goal of the season.
    Boyd Devereaux gave the Red Wings a 2 goal lead again by scoring at 13:58.
    The second period ended with Detroit leading New Jersey by a score of 3-1.   The Devils outshot the Red Wings 16-11.
    John Madden beat Manny Legace at 4:59 of the third period to bring the Devils back within one goal.   Scott Niedermayer and Jay Pandolfo got assists on Madden's 5th goal of the season.
    Igor Larionov took advantage of a bad play by Scott Gomez in the Devils defensive end, and put the puck past Brodeur at 13:55.   The unassisted goal restored the Red Wings 2 goal lead.
    The game ended with the Red Wings winning by a score of 4-2.   The Devils outshot the Wings 13-9 in the third and 38-27 in the game.
