December 04, 2001 Devs & Lightning Tie, 1-1
The Devils and Tampa Bay Lightning skated to a 1-1
tie in New Jersey on Tuesday, December 4, 2001.
The first period saw no scoring, but the Devils had a few
good chances. They outshot the Lightning 8-4.
Fredrik Modin scored for the Lightning at 12:54 of the
second period to give the Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead.
The second period ended with the Lightning leading 1-0,
but outshot 16-3 in the period.
On the Devils 35th shot of the game, Bobby Holik tipped
a rocket of a shot from Brian Rafalski on the power-play at 11:27 of
the third period. Patrik Elias also got an assist on the goal
that tied the game, 1-1.
Regulation time ended with the game tied, 1-1.
Overtime ended with a tie game, 1-1. New Jersey
outshot Tampa Bay, 42-11 in the game.
Tommy Albelin and Jim McKenzie were the healthy scratches
for the Devils.
