December 22, 2001 Devs Shutout by Sens 1-0
The New Jersey Devils were shutout 1-0 at home by the
Ottawa Senators on Saturday, December 22, 2001.
The first period ended with no scoring, but the Ottawa
Senators leading the shots on goal, 9-5.
Wade Redden blasted a long shot that was tipped by Mike
Fisher past Martin Brodeur at 10:00 of the second period to give the
Senators a 1-0 lead.
The second period ended with Ottawa leading 1-0.
The Devils outshot the Senators 14-7 in the period.
There was no scoring in the third period. The Senators
outshot the Devils 6-4 in the period.
Jason Arnott (flu), Jay Pandolfo (ribs), and Tommy Albelin
were scratches for the Devils.
