December 30, 2002 Game 35: Devils Shutout Bruins, 1-0 in Boston
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Bruins in Boston on Monday,
December 30, 2002. Martin Brodeur recorded his 59th career shutout of
the season and 59th of his career.
Jay Pandolfo was credited with a goal at 16:13 to give the Devils
a 1-0 lead. A John Madden shot deflected off of Pandolfo and past John
Grahame. Jamie Langenbrunner also assisted on Pandolfo's 3rd goal of the
season.
The first period ended with the Devils leading the Bruins, 1-0.
The Devils outshot the Bruins 11-10 in the period.
There was no scoring in the second period. The Bruins
outshot the Devils 12-10 in the period.
There was no scoring in the third period, the Bruins had a number
of good scoring chances in the third period, outshooting the Devils, 11-6 in
the period and 33-27 in the game.
The game is the first of four meetings between the two teams this
season. The Devils are now 24-33-12-2 against the Bruins
lifetime.
Jim McKenzie and Tommy Albelin were healthy scratches for the
Devils.
