October 30, 2003 Game 9: Devils Win at Home, Beat Flyers, 3-2
The New Jersey Devils got their first home win, defeating the
Philadelphia Flyers, 3-2 in New Jersey on Thursday, October 30, 2003.
Here are a few of my pictures
from the game.
Tony Amonte gave the Flyers an early 1-0 lead, 9:08 into the
first period. Simon Gagne made beat Brodeur at 17:42 to make it
2-0.
The first period ended with the Devils trailing the Flyers,
2-0. The Devils outshot the Flyers 10-7 in the period.
Mike Rupp score his first goal of the season, beating Hackett
just 34 seconds into the second period. Patrik Elias got the lone assist
on the goal.
Scott Stevens recorded his first goal of the season beating
Hackett with a nice slap shot at 12:42 of the second period to tie the game,
2-2.
The second period came to a close with the game tied, 2-2.
The Devils outshot the Flyers, 12-8 in the period.
Mike Rupp beat Hackett for the second time in the game at 11:17
of the third period to give the Devils their first lead in the game.
The Devils third unanswered goal was assisted by Scott Stevens.
The game ended with the Devils defeating the Flyers, 3-2. The
Flyers managed only 1 shot on goal in the third period, and were outshot 28-16
in the game.
All fans in attendance received a New Jersey Devils Championship
Collector Puck.
