November 05, 2003Game 11: Devils Beat Sharks, 3-2 in Overtime
The New Jersey Devils defeated the San Jose Sharks, 3-2 in
overtime, at home on Wednesday, November 5, 2003. The win extends the
Devils winning streak to 4 games.
Here are a few of my pictures
from the game.
There was no scoring in the first period, though the Devils
outshot the Sharks, 7-3 in the period.
Turner Stevenson recorded his first goal of the season at 15:28
of the second period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Scott Stevens got
the only assist on Stevenson's goal.
The second period ended with the Devils leading the Sharks, 1-0.
The Devils outshot San Jose, 11-5 in the period.
Alexander Korolyuk beat Martin Brodeur unassisted, just 34
seconds into the third period to tie the game, 1-1.
Christian Berglund beat Evgeni Nabokov just 2 minutes later to
give the Devils a 2-1 lead. Scott Stevens and Sergei Brylin assisted on
Berglund's first goal of the season.
Scott Thornton re-tied the game by beating Martin Brodeur at 8:10
of the third period.
Regulation time ended with the game tied, 2-2. The Devils outshot
the Sharks 10-6 in the third period.
Jamie Langenbrunner put the puck past Nabokov with just 43
seconds remaining in the game to give the Devils a 3-2 overtime victory.
The goal was Langenbrunner's fourth of the season and was assisted by
John Madden and Scott Niedermayer.
The game was Jeff Friesen's 700th career NHL game.
The Devils held their 22nd annual Food Drive during this
