November 12, 2003 Game 14: Devils & Sabres Skate to 2-2 Tie
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 2-2 tie with the Buffalo Sabres
in Rochester, New York, on Wednesday, November 12, 2003.
Neither team was able to score a goal in the first period, though
the Devils outshot the Sabres, 12-7 in the period.
Chris Taylor scored the first goal of the game at 6:15 of the
second period, beating Martin Brodeur to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead.
Jeff Friesen beat Martin Biron on the power-play at 17:41 of the
second period. Friesen's fourth goal of the season was assisted by
Jamie Langenbrunner and Tommy Albelin.
The second period ended with the teams tied, 1-1. The
Devils outshot Buffalo 15-11 in the period.
Jamie Langenbrunner gave the Devils a 2-1 lead at 11:52 of the
third period with a short-handed goal. Langenbrunner's sixth goal of the
season was assisted by Patrik Elias and Brian Rafalski.
Maxim Afinogenov beat Brodeur just 1:21 after Langenbrunner's
goal to tie the game, 2-2.
Regulation time ended with the game tied, 2-2, and neither team
could score in the overtime period. The Devils outshot the Sabres 35-28
in the game.
