December 12, 2003 Game 27: Devils & Flyers Skate To 3-3 Tie
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 3-3 tie at home against the
Philadelphia Flyers on Friday, December 12, 2003. The game was the first
half of a home-and-home series, with the second half to be played in
Philadelphia Saturday evening.
Here are a few of my pictures
from the game.
Jay Pandolfo gave the Devils a 1-0 lead by beating Jeff Hackett
at 8:28 of the first period. Pandolfo's seventh goal of the season was
assisted by Sergei Brylin and Jeff Friesen.
Scott Niedermayer blasted the puck past Hackett from the red line
with just 31 seconds remaining in the first period to give the Devils a 2 goal
lead. Patrik Elias and Colin White assisted on Niedermayer's seventh
goal of the season.
The Flyers outshot the Devils 9-7 in the first period, which
ended with the Devils leading, 2-0.
Sami Kapanen beat Brodeur at 3:57 of the second period to cut the
Devils lead to one goal. At 10:29, Donald Brasher beat Brodeur to tie
the game, 2-2.
The second period ended with the score tied, 2-2. The
Flyers outshot the Devils 16-5 in the period.
Just 1:17 into the third period, Patrik Elias beat Hackett on the
power-play to give the Devils a 3-2 lead. Brian Rafalski assisted on
Elias' ninth goal of the season.
Keith Primeau tied the game at 13:35 of the third period, beating
Martin Brodeur, in close.
Regulation time ended with the game tied, 3-3, ensuring each team
would get at least one point. There was no scoring in the overtime.
The Flyers outshot the Devils 40-21 in the game.
