February 05, 2004 Game 53: Canucks Throw Devils A 4-0 Beating
The New Jersey Devils were pounded 4-0 at home by the Vancouver
Canucks on Thursday, February 5, 2004.
Here are a few of my
pictures from the game.
Henrik Sedin beat Martin Brodeur just 1:11 into the first
period to give Vancouver an early 1-0 lead.
Though the Devils outshot the Canucks 7-6 in the first period,
Vancouver led 1-0 on the scoreboard.
The other Sedin, Daniel scored at 3:51 of the second period to
make it a 2-0 Vancouver lead. Ex-Devil Brendan Morrison scored on a
power-play at 13:46 to increase the Canucks lead.
Sean Brown attempted to get the Devils going by getting a scrap
together with Brad May of Vancouver on his next shift after the Canucks third
goal.
The second period ended with the Canucks leading the Devils,
3-0. Vancouver outshot New Jersey 10-7 in the second period.
Trevor Linden topped off the Canucks scoring with a power-play
goal at 11:52 of the third.
The Devils outshot the Canucks 10-6 in the third period and 24-22
in the game.
The game was the only regular season matchup between the
teams this season.
David Hale (knee) and Erik Rasmussen (healthy) were scratches for
the Devils. Tommy Albelin skated in his 900th career NHL game.
