February 15, 2004 Game 57: Devils Beat Kings 3-2 in Overtime
The New Jersey Devils beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 in overtime
on Sunday, February 15, 2004.
Here are a few of my
pictures from the game.
Things did not go so well for the Devils early in the first
period, when two Kings scored their first goals of the season just 2:26 apart.
Pavel Rosa scored at 7:34 and Tomas Zizka the 10:00 mark on the
power-pla.
Sergei Brylin got the Devils on the board, beating Roman
Cechmanek with a power-play goal with 1:40 remaining in the period. Jeff
Friesen and Jamie Langenbrunner assisted on Brylin's 11th goal of the
season.
The first period ended with the Kings leading the Devils 2-1, and
outshooting them 12-11.
Jamie Langenbrunner beat Cechmanek 7:00 into the second period to
tie the game, 2-2. Paul Martin and Colin White assisted on
Langenbrunner's eighth goal of the season.
The second period came to a close with the game tied, 2-2.
The Devils outshot the Kings 10-5 in the period.
There was no scoring in the third period, but Paul Martin put the
puck past Cechmanek with just 1:07 remaining in the overtime to win the game
for the Devils. The Devils outshot the Kings 6-3 in the overtime and
35-26 in the game.
The Devils won the season series 2-0.
