Arbitration Gets Niedermayer $7 Million

    Defenseman Scott Niedermayer was awarded a $7 million one-year contract by salary arbitration on Friday, August 13, 2004.

    It is rumored that Niedermayer was seaking a 5 year deal worth $45 million, and that the Devils offered $40 million.
