November 29, 2005 Game 23: Devils Rally To Defeat Bruins, 3-2
The New Jersey Devils beat the the Boston Bruins at home on
Tuesday, November 29, 2005.
Patrice Bergeron beat Martin Brodeur on the power-play at 8:49 of
the first period to give the Bruins a 1-0 lead.
The first period ended with the Bruins leading the Devils, 1-0.
The Bruins outshot the Devils 7-5 in the period.
Sergei Samsonov scored just 30 seconds into the second period as
Martin Brodeur was knocked to the ice.
Brian Gionta beat Andrew Raycroft at 13:14 to get the Devils back
within one goal of the Bruins. Gionta's 16th goal of the season was
assisted by Colin White and Scott Gomez.
The Devils outshot the Bruins 17-4 in the second period, but were
unable to get more than the one Gionta goal. The period ended with the
Bruins leading, 2-1.
Jay Pandolfo beat Raycroft 5:27 into the third period to tie the
game, 2-2. John Madden and Grant Marshall assisted on Pandolfo's fourth goal of
the season.
Alexander Mogilny blasted the puck past Raycraft with just 31.4
seconds remaining in the third period to give the Devils their first lead of
the game. John Madden assisted on Mogilny's ninth goal of the
season.
The game ended with the Devils defeating the Bruins, 3-2.
The shots were even 12-12 in the third period, but the Devils outshot the
Bruins 34-23 in the game.
