The New Jersey Devils defeated the Philadelphia Flyers, 3-2 at
home on Saturday, October 14, 2006.
Zach Parise beat Antero Niittymaki with a power-play goal at 9:08
of the first period. Scott Gomez and Brian Rafalski assisted on Parise's
third goal of the season.
Mike Knuble tied the game with a power-play goal that beat Martin
Brodeur at 11:14.
The first period ended with the game tied, 1-1. The Flyers
outshot the Devils 11-10 in the period.
Mike Knuble scored his second goal of the game just 1:23 into the
second period to give the Flyers a 2-1 lead.
Jamie Langenbrunner tied the game with a power-play goal at
18:19. Brian Rafalski and Patrik Elias assisted on Langenbrunner's
second goal of the season.
The second period ended with the game tied, 2-2. The
Devils outshot the Flyers 11-9 in the period.
Brian Gionta gave the Devils a 3-2 lead with a goal at 3:33.
Brian Rafalski and Scott Gomez assisted on Gionta's fourth goal of the
season.
The Devils outshot the Flyers 11-5 in the third period, and 32-25
in the game.
