October 26, 2006 Game 10: Brodeur & Devils Shutout Panthers 2-0
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Florida Panthers 2-0 at home
on Thursday, October 26, 2006. The shutout was the 82nd of Martin
Brodeur's career.
Zach Parise gave the Devils a 1-0 lead when he beat Panthers
netminder Alexander Auld on a power-play with just 1:03 remaining in the first
period. Parise's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Travis Zajac
and Brian Rafalski.
The shots were 10-10 in the first period, which ended with New
Jersey leading Florida, 1-0.
Patrik Elias made it a 2-0 Devils lead with a power-play goal at
15:55 of the second period. Jamie Langenbrunner and John Madden assisted
on Elias' second goal of the season.
The Panthers outshot the Devils 15-7 in the second period, which
ended with the Devils leading 2-0.
There was no scoring in the third period.
