November 17, 2006 Game 18: Devils Hold On To Beat Senators 3-2
The New Jersey Devils beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2 at home on
Friday, November 17, 2006.
Jamie Langenbrunner beat Ray Emery just 2:29 into the first
period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Zach Parise and Travis Zajac
assisted on Langenbrunner's sixth goal of the season.
With just 52 seconds remaining in the period on a power-play,
Langenbrunner scored again to increase the Devils lead to 2 goals.
Langenbrunner's second goal of the game was assisted again by Zach Parise and
Travis Zajac.
The first period ended with the Devils leading the Senators 2-0.
The Devils outshot the Sens 7-6 in the period.
Zach Parise made it a 3-0 Devils lead with a goal at 6:56 of the
second period. Parise's eighth goal of the season was assisted by Travis
Zajac and Jamie Langenbrunner.
The Devils outshot the Senators 13-6 in the second period, which
ended with the Devils leading, 3-0.
Chris Neil got the Senators on the board when he beat Martin
Brodeur at 5:38 of the third period. Daniel Alfredson cut the Devils
lead to one goal, scoring at 11:29.
