The New Jersey Devils defeated the New York Islanders, 2-0 at
home on Thursday, February 8, 2007. Martin Brodeur recorded the 10th
shutout of the season and the 90th of his career.
The Devils outshot the Islanders 15-3 n the first period, which
ended scoreless.
Jamie Langenbrunner scored his 19th goal of the season, beating
Rick DiPietro at 10:42 of the second period to give New Jersey a 1-0 lead.
Zach Parise and Paul Martin assisted on the goal.
The Islanders outshot the Devils 11-7 in the second period, but
the Devils led 1-0.
Jay Pandolfo scored a shorthanded goal at 16:24 of the third
period to give the Devils a 2-0 lead. John Madden assisted on Pandolfo's
eighth goal of the season.
