The New Jersey Devils beat the New York Rangers 2-1 at home
on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. The teams will play again on Thursday
at Madison Square Garden.
Brian Rafalski beat Henrik Lundqvist at 8:16 of the first period
to give New Jersey a 1-0 lead. Scott Gomez and Sergei Brylin assisted on
Rafalski's sixth goal of the season.
The first period ended with the Devils leading the Rangers, 1-0.
The Devils outshot the Rangers 12-8 in the period.
Petr Prucha tied the game with a goal at 17:00 of the second
period.
The score was tied, 1-1 at the end of the second period.
The Rangers outshot the Devils 16-9 in the period.
Zach Parise gave the Devils a 2-1 lead with a goal at 12:06 of
the third period. Scott Gomez and Brad Lukowich assisted on Parise's
24th goal of the season.
