The New Jersey Devils lost 4-5 to the Flyers in Philadelphia on
Tuesday, March 6, 2007.
Zach Parise beat Martin Biron at 4:41 of the first period to give
the Devils a 1-0 lead. Parise's 27th goal of the season was assisted by
Scott Gomez and Brian Gionta.
The Flyers outshot the Devils 15-6 in the first period, but the
Devils led 1-0 when the horn sounded.
Geoff Sanderson beat Martin Brodeur just 56 seconds into the
second period to tie the game, 1-1.
Patrik Elias gave the Devils a 2-1 lead with a goal at 12:36.
Elias' 21st goal of the season was assiste by Scott Gomez.
l Sami Kapanen tied the game with a power-play goal at
Sergei Brylin regained the lead for the Devils with a goal at
17:19. Brylin's 14th of the season was assisted by Patrik Elias and
Mike Richards tied the game again with a goal at 18:01.
Scottie Upshall gave the Flyers the lead for the first time in the game with a
goal with just 34 seconds remaining in the period.
The Flyers outshot the Devils 16-15 in the second period, which
ended with the Flyers leading, 4-3.
Brad Lukowich tied the game with a goal at 14:25.
Lukowich's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Scott Gomez and Patrik
The Devils outshot the Flyers 20-10 in the third period to even
the shots up 41-41 at the end of regulation time.
Simon Gagne scored 1:47 into the overtime period to win the game
