March 15, 2007 Game 71: Devils Defeat Hurricanes 3-2
The New Jersey Devils beat the Hurricanes 3-2 in North Carolina
on Thursday, March 15, 2007.
Scott Gomez beat John Grahame just 39 seconds into the first
period to give the Devils an early 1-0 lead. Jamie Langenbrunner and
Erik Rasmussen assisted on Gomez's 11th goal of the season.
David Tanabe tied the game with a goal that beat Martin Brodeur
at 8:46.
Erik Rasmussen scored just 40 seconds into the third period to
give New Jersey a 2-1 lead. Rassmussen's third goal of the season was
assisted by Scott Gomez and Jamie Langenbrunner.
Zach Parise made it a 3-1 Devils lead with a goal at 8:09.
Travis Zajac assisted on Parise's 28th goal of the season.
Andrew Ladd scored at 10:53 to give Carolina hope.
