April 01, 2007 Game 79: Devils Beat Bruins 3-1
The New Jersey Devils beat the Boston Bruins 3-1 at home on
Sunday, April 1, 2007.
Jay Pandolfo beat Tim Thomas at 2:09 of the first period to give
the Devils an early 1-0 lead. Pandolfo's 12th goal of the season was
assisted by Erik Rasmussen and John Madden.
The Devils outshot the Bruins 8-5 in the first period, which
ended with New Jersey leading, 1-0.
Petr Kalus beat Martin Brodeur at 8:11 of the second period on a
power-play to tie the game, 1-1.
Brian Gionta scored a power-play goal at 11:29 to give the Devils
a 2-1 lead. Gionta's 25th goal of the season was assisted by Zach Parise
and Brian Rafalski.
The Devils led 2-1 at the end of the second period, in which they
outshot the Bruins 9-6.
Jay Pandolfo scored his second goal of the game at 14:18 of the
third period to give the Devils a 3-1 lead. Pandolfo's goal was assisted
by John Madden and Erik Rasmussen.
