May 02, 2007 R2 Game 4: Devils Lose 2-3 in Ottawa
The New Jersey Devils lost 2-3 to the Senators in Ottawa for Game
4 of Round 2 of the 2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs on Wednesday, May 2, 2007.
Daniel Alfredsson beat Martin Brodeur at 4:34 of the first period
to give Ottawa a 1-0 lead.
The shots were even, 9-9 in the first period, which ended with
the Senators leading, 1-0.
Brian Gionta beat Ray Emery with a power-play goal at 4:17 of the
second period to tie the game, 1-1. Patrik Elias and Martin Brodeur
assisted on Gionta's eighth goal of the playoffs.
Dany Heatly scored a lucky goal at 14:44 to give Ottawa a 2-1
lead.
The second period ended with the Senators leading 2-1. The
shots were even, 14-14 in the second period.
Mike Fisher scored for Ottawa at 3:58 of the third period to give
Ottawa a two goal lead.
Jay Pandolfo scored his first goal of the post-season at 9:36 to
get New Jersey back within one goal of Ottawa. Paul Martin and Sergei
Brylin assisted on Pandolfo's goal.
The Senators outshot the Devils 13-8 in the third period and
36-31 in the game.
