The New Jersey Devils beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 at home on
Friday, November 2, 2007.
David Clarkson got the Devils on the board with a goal at 14:17
of the first period. Mike Mottau and Martin Brodeur assisted on
Clarkson's first goal of the season.
The Leafs outshot the Devils 9-5 in the first period, which ended
with New Jersey leading, 1-0.
Alexander Steen tied the game with a goal that beat Martin
Brodeur at 10:56 of the second period.
The second period ended with the game tied, 1-1. The Leafs
outshot the Devils 11-4 in the period.
John Madden beat Vesa Toskala at 15:48 with a short-handed goal
to give the Devils a 2-1 lead. Madden's sixth goal of the season was
assisted by Andy Greene.
Zach Parise made it a two goal lead after taking a few of his own
rebounds, scoring just 1:37 after Madden's goal. Parise's fourth goal of
the season was assisted by Arron Asham.
Mats Sundin scored a 6 on 4 power-play goal with just 32 seconds
remaining in regulation time.
