November 12, 2007 Game 17: Devils Beat Penguins 3-2 - Elias Nets Winner!
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Penguins 3-2 in Pittsburgh on
Monday, November 12, 2007.
Travis Zajac beat Dany Sabourin at 4:40 of the first period to
give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Zach Parise and Dainius Zubrus assisted on
Zajac's fourth goal of the season.
Zach Parise added a power-play goal at 10:33 to increase the
Devils lead to 2 goals. Parise's fifth goal of the season was assisted
by Brian Gionta and Patrik Elias.
The first period ended with New Jersey leading 2-0. The
Penguins outshot the Devils 7-5 in the period.
Sidney Crosby got the Penguins on the board with a goal that beat
Kevin Weekes just 26 seconds into the second period.
The Devils outshot the Penguins 10-7 in the second period, which
ended with the Devils leading 2-1.
Evgeni Malkin tied the game with a power-play goal at 10:34 of
the third period.
Patrik Elias finally broke his scoring drought with a goal that
broke the 2-2 tie at 14:37. Elias' third goal of the season was assisted
by Brian Gionta.
