November 14, 2007 Game 18: Langenbrunner 2, Rangers 4
The New Jersey Devils lost 2-4 at home to the New York Rangers on
Wednesday, November 14, 2007.
Jamie Langenbrunner, in his first shift of the season, scored a
goal beating Henrik Lundqvist just 35 seconds into the first period to give the
Devils an early 1-0 lead. Johnny Oduya and Zach Parise assisted on
Langenbrunner's first goal of the season.
Nigel Dawes tied the game with a goal that beat Martin Brodeur
just 50 seconds after Langenbrunner's goal.
The Devils outshot the Rangers 8-7 in the first period, which
ended with the game tied, 1-1.
Brandon Dubinsky gave the Rangers a 2-1 lead with a goal just
1:01 into the second period. Jaromir Jagr scored a power play goal at
19:26 to make it a 2 goal Rangers lead.
The Rangers led 3-1 at the end of the second period, in which the
Rangers outshot the Devils 10-8.
Marc Staal scored his first NHL goal at 4:13 of the third period
to give the Rangers a commanding 4-1 lead.
Jamie Langenbrunner scored his second goal of the game at 7:29 to
get the Devils back within two goals. Zach Parise and Karel Rachunek
assisted on the goal.
