November 24, 2007 Game 23: Devils Beat Lightning 3-2, Extend Win Streak to 4
The New Jersey Devils beat the Lightning 3-2 in Tampa Bay on
Saturday, November 24, 2007.
The game was scoreless at the end of the first perid, in which
the Devils outshot the Lightning 13-7.
Vincent Lecavalier beat Martin Brodeur just 35 seconds into the
second period to give Tampa Bay a 1-0 lead.
Brian Gionta tied the game with a 5 on 3 power-play goal that
beat Johan Holmqvist at 4:49. Zach Parise and Jamie Langenbrunner
assisted on Gionta's sixth goal of the season.
Gionta gave the Devils their first lead of the game with a goal
at 12:19. Gionta's second goal of the game was assisted by Travis Zajac
and Zach Parise.
David Clarkson scored his second goal of the season at 13:01
after taking a great pass from John Madden. Jay Pandolfo also assisted
on the goal that gave New Jersey a 3-1 lead.
The Lightning outshot the Devils 15-7 in the second period, which
ended with the Devils leading 3-1.
Jason Ward scored a power-play goal just 36 seconds into the
third period to get Tampa back within 1 goal.
