November 30, 2007 Game 25: Devils Crush Habs 4-0, Parise Gets Trick
The New Jersey Devils beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-0 at the
Prudential Center on Friday, November 30, 2007. The shutout was the 94th
of Martin Brodeur's career and second of the season.
Zach Parise made the most of a breakaway, beating Montreal
netminder Carey Price at 19:25 of the first period. Parise's 10th goal
of the season was scored unassisted.
The Canadiens outshot the Devils 16-9 in the first period, which
ended with New Jersey leading 1-0.
Parise added a power-play goal at 13:10 of the second period, to
make it a two goal Devils lead. Parise's second goal of the game was
assisted by Brian Gionta and Travis Zajac.
The Devils outshot the Canadiens 10-5 in the second period, which
ended with the Devils leading 2-0.
Zach Parise completed his first career hat trick at 6:22 of the
third period on a 5 on 3 power-play. Jamie Langenbrunner and Paul Martin
assisted on the goal.
Brian Gionta made it a 4-0 Devils lead with a 5 on 3 power-play
goal at 7:49. Gionta's ninth goal of the season was assisted by Zach
Parise and Jamie Langenbrunner.
The Devils outshot the Habs 10-6 in the third period and 29-27
in the game.
