Game 36: Devils Shutout Flames, 1-0 Overtime

    The New Jersey Devils and Martin Brodeur shutout the Flames, 1-0 in Calgary on Sunday, December 23, 2007.

    The Devils outshot the Flames 11-7 in the first period, though neither team was able to score a goal in the first 20 minutes.

    The game remained scoreless after the second period, in which the Flames outshot the Devils 14-4.

    Regulation time ended with both netminders having a shutout.   Calgary outshot the Devils 9-6 in the third period.

    Patrik Elias beat Miikka Kiprusoff 25 seconds into the overtime to win the game for New Jersey.   Brian Gionta assisted on Elias' eighth goal of the season.
