The New Jersey Devils lost 3-4 to the Bruins in Boston on
Saturday, January 5, 2008.
Dainius Zubrus gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a goal that beast
Tim Thomas at 4:26 of the first period. Patrik Elias assisted on Zubrus'
seventh goal of the season.
PJ Axelsson beat Kevin Weekes to tie the game at 14:13.
Dennis Wideman made it 2-0 with a goal at 18:10. With just 1 second
remaining in the first period, Marco Sturm increased the Bruins lead to
3-1 with a short-handed goal.
The Devils outshot the Bruins 14-8 in the first period, but
trailed 1-3 in goals.
Johnny Oduya got the Devils back within one goal of Boston at
17:11. Arron Asham and David Clarkson assisted on Oduya's first goal of
Marc Savard scored on Weekes at 19:00 of second period to give
Boston a 4-2 lead.
The Bruins outshot the Devils 16-11 in the second period, which
ended with Boston leading 4-2.
Travis Zajac cut the Bruins lead to one goal with a power-play
goal at 10:33 of the third period. Mike Mottau and Dainius Zubrus
assisted on Zajac's seventh goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Bruins 20-1 in the third period and 45-25
in the game.
