Game 64: Hurricanes Defeat Devils 2-1 in Overtime

    The New Jersey Devils were beating 2-1 in overtime by the Hurricanes in North Carolina on Tuesday, February 26, 2008.

    The Devils outshot the Hurricanes 9-8 in the first period, which ended the the game scoreless.

    Brian Gionta gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a goal that beat Cam Ward 1:50 into the second period.   Gionta's 17th goal of the season was scored unassisted.

    Carolina tied the game with a power-play goal from Sergei Samsonov that beat Martin Brodeur at 5:57.
