March 19, 2008 Game 73: Devils Lose To Rangers: 1-2 Shootout
The New Jersey Devils lost 1-2 at home to the New York Rangers in
a shootout on Wednesday, March 19, 2008.
Dainius Zubrus put the puck past Henrik Lundqvist at 8:05 of the
first period on a power-play to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Mike Rupp
and Sergei Brylin assisted on Zubrus' 12th goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Rangers 6-5 in the first period, which
ended with the Devils leading 1-0.
The Rangers outshot the Devils 9-4 in the second period, though
neither team could put the puck behind a goaltender.
Chris Drury tied the game with a goal that beat Martin Brodeur at
15:14 of the third period.
