September 24, 2008 Pre Season Game 2: Devils BEAT Rangers 3-2
The New Jersey Devils defeated the New York Rangers 3-2 at the
Prudential for game 2 of the pre-season.
Jamie Langenbrunner gave the Devils an early 1-0 lead with a goal
that beat Henrk Lundqvist at 4:54 of the first period. Paul Martin and
Niklas Bergfors assisted on the goal.
Brian Fahey tied the game with a goal for the Rangers that beat
Martin Brodeur at 10:17 on a power-play.
Zach Parise scored his first goal of the pre-season with just 25
seconds remaining in the first period. Parise's goal was assisted by
Bryce Salvador and Travis Zajac.
The first period ended with the Devils leading the Rangers, 2-1.
The Devils outshot the Rangers 10-6 in the period.
No goals were scored in the second period, in which the Rangers
outshot the Devils 9-5.
Zach Parise scored his second goal of the game at 16:40 of the
third period. Paul Martin and Bryce Salvador assisted
on the goal.
Aaron Voros got the Rangers back within one goal with a goal that
beat Scott Clemmensen at 17:53 of the third period.
