October 16, 2008 Game 4: Devils Shutout Thrashers 1-0
The New Jersey Devils beat the Thrashers 1-0 in Atlanta on
Thursday, October 16, 2008. The shutout was the 97th of Martin Brodeur's
career.
The Thrashers outshot the Devils 8-7 in the first period, though
neither team scored in the first 20 minutes.
Brian Rolston beat Kari Lehtonen at 18:57 of the second period on
a power-play to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Dainius Zubrus and Brian
Gionta assisted on Rolston's first goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Thrashers 21-7 in the second period, which
ended with New Jersey leading 1-0.
Neither team scored in the third period. The Thrashers
outshot the Devils 10-7 in the third period, but were outshot 35-25 in the
game.
