The New Jersey Devils were shutout 0-2 at home by the Buffalo
Sabres on Monday, November 3, 2008.
Jason Pominville beat Kevin Weekes at 19:26 of the first period
to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead.
Kevin Weekes looked solid in the first 20 minutes, facing an
onslaught (most shots given up by the Devils at home in the first period - in
15 years) of 20 shots.
The first period ended with the Sabres leading 1-0. The
Sabres outshot the Devils 20-3 in the period. Buffalo had 5 power-play
opportunities in the first period, compared to the Devils 1.
Neither team scored in the second period, in which the Devils
outshot the Sabres 12-5.
Patrick Kaleta beat Weekes at 7:41 of the third period to make it
a 2-0 Buffalo lead.
