November 29, 2008 Game 22: Streak Over, Penguins Defeat Devils 4-1
The New Jersey Devils lost 1-4 to the Penguins in Pittsburgh on
on Saturday, November 29, 2008.
Sidney Crosby gave the Penguins a 1-0 lead with a goal that beat
Scott Clemmensen just 1:21 into the first period.
The Penguins outshot the Devils 16-12 in the first period and led
1-0 on the scoreboard.
Ex-Devils Petr Sykora gave the Pens a 2 goal lead with a
power-play goal at 7:28 of the second period. Crosby scored his second
goal of the game at 11:29 to make it 3-0 Pittsburgh.
The second period ended with the Penguins leading 3-0.
Pittsburgh outshot New Jersey 12-8 in the period.
Mike Rupp got the Devils on the board with a goal that beat Dany
Sabourin at 1:54 of the third period. Patrik Elias and Brian Gionta
assisted on Rupp's second goal of the season.
Crosby completely a hat trick with an empty net goal at 17:59 of
the third period.
