The New Jersey Devils beat the Sabres 3-2 in Buffalo on Saturday,
April 4, 2009.
David Clarkson gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a goal that beat
Ryan Miller at 2:28 of the first period. Clarkson's 16th goal of the
season was scored unassisted.
A power-play goal from Zach Parise at 5:38 gave the Devils a 2-0
lead. Paul Martin assisted on Parise's 44th goal of the season.
The Sabres outshot the Devils 10-8 in the first period, which
ended with the Devils leading, 2-0.
Jamie Langenbrunner gave the Devils a three goal lead when he
beat Miller at 7:04 of the second period. Langenbrunner's 28th goal of
the season was scored unassisted.
Jochen Hecht beat Martin Brodeur at 6:03 of the third period to
get Buffalo on the board.
Clarke Macarther gave the Sabres hope with a goal at 16:18, but
the Devils held on to win, 3-2.
