Round 1 Game 5: Devils & Brodeur Shutout Hurricanes 1-0

    The New Jersey Devils took a 3-2 series lead with a 1-0 shutout of the Carolina Hurricanes at the Prudential Center on Thursday, April 23, 2009.   The Devils need to win one of the next two games to advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

    David Clarkson scored the only goal of the game at 11:22 of the second period on a power-play.   Andy Greene and Patrik Elias assisted on Clarkson's second goal of the playoffs.

    The Hurricanes outshot the Devils 44-42 in the game.
