October 28, 2009 Game 10: Sabres Slice Devils 4-1
The New Jersey Devils lost 1-4 at home to the Buffalo Sabres on
Wednesday, October 28, 2009.
Clarke MacArthur beat Martin Brodeur just 1:21 into he first
period to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead. Tim Kennedy made it 2-0 with a
goal at 6:00.
The Sabres outshot the Devils 14-7 in the first period, which
ended with Buffalo leading 2-0.
Andy Greene scored a power-play goal at 4:17 of the second period
to cut the Sabres lead in half. Zach Parise and Jamie Langenbrunner
assisted on Greene's first goal of the season.
The second period ended with the Sabres leading 2-1. The
Devils outshot the Sabres 10-6 in the period.
Buffalo took a 3-1 lead with a goal from Paul Gaustad at 9:25 of
the third period. A power-play goal from Jason Pominville at 17:21
sealed the Devils fate.
The Devils outshot the Sabres 15-7 in the third period and 32-27
in the game.
