December 07, 2009 Game 28: Brodeur Ties Record with 3-0 Shutout Of Sabres
The New Jersey Devils and Martin Brodeur shutout the Buffalo
Sabres 3-0 on Monday, December 7, 2009.
Brian Rolston beat Ryan Miller at 17:51 of the first period to
give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Patrik Elias and Vladimir Zharkov assisted
on Rolston's 10th goal of the season.
Travis Zajac scored just 1:07 later to make it a two goal lead.
Zach Parise and Colin White assisted on Zajac's ninth goal of the
season.
The Devils outshot the Sabres 12-5 in the first period, which
ended with the Devils leading, 2-0.
A power-play goal from Niclas Bergfors just 38 seconds into the
second period increased the Devils lead to 3-0. Bergfors' ninth goal of
the season was assisted by Jamie Langenbrunner and Andy Greene.
The second period ended with New Jersey leading 3-0. The
Devils outshot the Sabres 14-7 in the period.
