The New Jersey Devils beat the Islanders 4-2 in New York on
Saturday, January 23, 2010.
Jamie Langenbrunner beat Rick Dipietro at 5:52 of the first
period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Travis Zajac and Bryce Salvador
assisted on Langenbrunner's 14th goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Islanders 13-5 in the first period, which
ended with New Jersey leading 1-0.
A power-play goal from Kyle Okposo tied the game at 9:34 of the
second period. Jack Hillen put the puck past Martin Brodeur at 11:36 on
the same 5 minute major penalty (that was assessed to Colin White) to gave the
Islanders a 2-1 lead.
Zach Parise tied the game with a power-play goal at 19:28.
Travis Zajac and Jamie Langenbrunner assisted on Parise's 22nd goal of
The Islanders outshot the Devils 14-1 in the second period, which
ended with the teams tied, 2-2.
Bryce Salvador scored at 13:!1 of the third period to give the
Devils a 3-2 lead. Salvador's third goal of the season was assisted by
Zach Parise added an empty net goal at 19:14 to seal the Devils
victory. Travis Zajac and Jamie Langenbrunner assisted on Parise's
second goal of the game.
