March 05, 2010 Game 63: Devils Fall to Flames 3-5
The New Jersey Devils lost 3-5 to the Flames in Calgary on
Friday, March 5, 2010.
Zach Parise gave the Devils a 1-0 lead with a goal that beat
Miikka Kiprusoff at 13:37 of the first period. Travis Zajac and Andy
Greene assisted on Parise's 29th goal of the season.
The Devils outshot the Flames 9-5 in the first period, which
ended with New Jersey leading 1-0.
Daymond Langkow tied the game with a goal that beat Martin
Brodeur just 1:43 into the second period. Curtis Glencross added a
short-handed goal at 5:41. Eric Nystrom made it 3-1 with a goal at
16:04.
The Flames outshot the Devils 11-8 in the second period, which
ended with Calgary leading 3-1.
Matt Stajan scored for Calgary at 9:29 of the third period and
David Moss scored the Flames' fifth straight goal at 10:02 to make it 5-1
Calgary.
Zach Parise scored a power-play goal at 16:08 to cut Calgary's
lead to 3 goals. Parise's second goal of the game was assisted by Jamie
Langenbrunner and Travis Zajac.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored at 17:26 to make it a 3 goal game.
Patrik Elias and Dainius Zubrus assisted on Kovalchuk's 34th goal of the
season.
