March 30, 2011 Game 76: Devils Beat Islanders 3-2
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 3-2 victory over the New York
Islanders at home on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.
Ilya Kovalchuk got the Devils on the board, breaking the Devils'
team record scoring drought, with a goal that beat Rick DiPietro at 4:17 of the
first period. Kovalchuk's 28th goal of the season was assisted by Nick
Palmieri and Travis Zajac.
Jacob Josefson scored his third goal of the season at 3:23 of the
second period to give the Devils a 2-0 lead. Nick Palmieri and Ilya
Kovalchuk assisted on the goal.
The Islanders tied the game in the third period with two goals
from Fran Nielsen at 9:38 (short-handed) and 13:44.
The game winning goal came from Andy Greene at 15:04.
Greene's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Patrik Elias and Dainius
Zubrus.
