October 15, 2011 Game 4: Devils Beat Predators 3-2 in Shootout
The New Jersey Devils recovered from an 0-2 deficit to beat the
Predators 3-2 in a shootout in Nashville on Saturday, October 15, 2011.
Colin Wilson beat Johan Hedberg at 12:22 of the first period on
a power-play to give Nashville a 1-0 lead. Jerred Smithson added a goal
just as a penalty was expiring at 13:53 to make it 2-0.
Ilya Kovalchuk got the Devils on the board with a goal that beat
Pekka Rinne at 1:00 of the third period on a power-play. Henrik
Tallinder and Patrik Elias assisted on Kovalchuk's second goal of the
season.
David Clarkson took a great pass from Mattias Tedenby and put it
behind Rinne at 7:57 of the third period to tie the game, 2-2. Mark
Fayne also assisted on Clarkson's first goal of the season.
Ilya Kovalchuk and Zach Parise both beat Rinne and Johan Hedberg
stopped Cal O'Reilly and Matt Halischuk to win the game.
