October 21, 2011 Game 5: Devils Collapse. Lose 3-4 to Sharks in Shootout
The New Jersey Devils lost 3-4 in a shootout to the San Jose
Sharks at the Prudential Center on Friday, October 21, 2011.
Patrik Elias beat Antti Niemi on a power-play at 13:53 of the

Clarkson assisted on Elias' second goal of the season.
Just 36 into the second period, Zach Parise was assaulted on a

scored 1:03 apart - at 15:18 and 16:21 of the second period to tie the
game 2-2.
David Clarkson scored at 13:18 of the third period to give the

Neither team scored in overtime, forcing the shootout.
Ilya Kovalchuk scored for the Devils, but Niemi stopped Parise and Elias.
