November 16, 2011 Game 17: Devils BEAT Sabres 5-3
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 5-3 victory over the Sabres
in Buffalo on Wednesday, November 16, 2011.
Zach Parise beat Jhonas Enroth with a short-handed goal at 2:06
of the first period to give the Devils a 1-0 lead. Adam Henrique was
credited with the only assist on Parise's sixth goal of the season.
Ilya Kovalchuk increased the Devils lead with a power-play goal
at 5:21. Patrik Elias and Martin Brodeur assisted on Kovalchuk's third
goal of the season.
Tyler Myers beat Brodeur on a power-play at 18:56 to get Buffalo
on the board.
Mark Fayne made it 3-1 New Jersey with a goal at 8:36.
Adam Henrique was credited with the only assist on Fayne's third of the
season.
The Devils took a 4-1 lead when Patrik Elias scored at 3:09 of
the third period. His seventh goal of the season was assisted by Petr
Sykora.
Tyler Myers scored his second goal of the game at 7:35 to get the
Sabres back within two goals.
David Clarkson made it 5-2 with a goal just 48 seconds later.
Andy Greene was credited with the only assist Clarkson's sixth goal
of the season.
Jordan Leopold scored at 15:07 to again cut the Devils lead to
two goals.
