December 13, 2011Game 30: Devils Beat Panthers 3-2 in Shootout
The New Jersey Devils defeated the Panthers 3-2 in a shootout in
Florida on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.
Kris Versteeg beat Martin Brodeur at 15:10 of the first period to
give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Versteeg scored again at 7:29 of the
second period, short-handed, to give the Panthers a two goal lead.
Patrik Elias got the Devils on the board with a goal that beat
Jose Theodore at 8:25 of the second period. Ilya Kovalchuk and Bryce
Salvador assisted on Elias' 10th goal of the season.
Zach Parise scored his 10th goal of the season at 7:40 of the
third period to tie the game 2-2. Henrik Tallinder and Ilya Kovalchuk
assisted on the goal.
Ilya Kovalchuk and Patrik Elias scored in the shootout, while
Martin Brodeur stopped Tomas Fleischmann and Kris Versteeg to win the game
for the Devils.
