January 07, 2012 Game 41: Devils BEAT Penguins 3-1
The New Jersey Devils beat the Penguins 3-1 in Pittsburgh on
Saturday, January 7, 2012.
Evgeni Malkin beat Martin Brodeur at 4:48 of the first period to
get the Penguins on the board first.
Adam Henrique scored a short-handed goal at 8:39 to tie the game,
1-1. Zach Parise was credited with the only assist on Henrique's 12th
goal of the season.
Ilya Kovalchuk put one past Marc-Andre Fleury at 11:23 to give
the Devils their first lead of the game. Zach Parise and Adam Henrique
assisted on Kovalchuk's 15th goal of the season.
A power-play goal from Dainius Zubrus 1:28 into the third period
gave the Devils a 3-1 lead. Patrik Elias and Ilya Kovalchuk assisted on
Zubrus' 12th goal of the season.
