Game 43: Devils Defeat Oilers: 2-1 Overtime

    The New Jersey Devils skated to a 2-1 overtime victory over the Oilers in Edmonton on Wednesday, January 11, 2012.

    Ilya Kovalchuk beat Nikolai Khabibulin with an unassisted short-handed goal at 8:35 of the second period.

    Ales Hemsk put the puck past Johan Hedberg on a power-play at 8:32 of the third period to tie the game, 1-1.

    Zach Parise won the game with a power-play goal 1:06 into the overtime period.   Parise's 15th goal of the season was assisted by Patrik Elias and Ilya Kovalchuk.
