January 21, 2012 Game 47: Devils Phall 1-4 to Phlyers
The New Jersey Devils lost 1-4 at home to the Philadelphia
Flyers on Saturday, January 21, 2012.
Matt Read put the puck past Martin Brodeur at 9:30 of the second
period to get the Flyers on the board first. Scott Hartnell made it 2-0
with a power-play goal at 13:04.
New Devil Alexei Ponikarovsky beat Ilya Bryzgalov just 28 seconds
after Hartnell's goal to cut the Flyers lead to one goal. Matt Taormina
and David Clarkston assisted on Ponikarovsky's first goal as a Devil (and
eighth of the season).
Hartnell scored another power-play goal at 8:07 of the third
period and Wayne Simmonds added an empty-net goal at 17:38 to seal
Philadelphia's victory.
