February 19, 2012 Game 58: Devils Defeat Canadiens: 3-1
The New Jersey Devils skated to a 3-1 victory over the Canadiens
in Montreal on Sunday, February 19, 2012.
Zach Parise scored at 18:03 of the first period to give the
Devils a 1-0 lead. Ilya Kovalchuk and Adam Henrique assisted on Parise's
22nd goal of the season.
David Clarkson made it a 2-0 Devils lead with a goal that beat Carey
Price with just 18 seconds remaining in the second period. Patrik Elias
and Petr Sykora assisted on Clarkson's 22nd goal of the season.
Max Pacioretty took advantage of a power-play and beat Martin
Brodeur at 1:46 of the third period. The power-play was third for
Montreal (New Jersey had none in the game).
Matt Taormina made it 3-1 with a blast at 8:27. Taormina's
first goal of the season was assisted by Mark Fayne and Dainius Zubrus.
