June 06, 2012 R4 Game 4: STAYING ALIVE: Devils BEAT Kings 3-1
The New Jersey Devils kept their miracle hopes alive with a 3-1
victory over the Kings in Los Angeleson Wednesday, June 6, 2012 to force a game
5.
Patrik Elias gave the Devils their first lead of the series when
he beat Jonathan Quick at 7:56 of the third period. Bryce Salvador and
Dainius Zubrus assisted on Elias' fifth.
The men in stripes did not like the Devils lead, and called the
weakest penalty ever on David Clarkson just 2 seconds later. Drew
Doughty scored a power-play goal at 8:58 to even the score.
Adam Henrique beat Quick at 15:29 to give the Devils a 2-1 lead.
Henrique's fourth goal of the playoffs was assisted by David Clarkson
and Alexei Ponikarovsky.
Ilya Kovalchuk added an empty net goal at 19:40 to seal the
victory for New Jersey. Andy Greene and Bryce Salvador assisted on
Kovalchuk's eighth of the post-season.
